INUBU: THE DOG CLUB
“A cinematic love letter to canines everywhere, tries to hit the sweet spot between heartwarming entertainment and impassioned advocacy” – Japan Times
Sota is a university student in the veterinary department. A life-long animal lover, his apartment is full of rescued puppies. His newest stray is Nico, a pup that has escaped from a medical facility that uses live animals for experiments. Inspired to save more of the animals, he sets up the "Inubu" club with his veterinary department colleagues. Sixteen years later, the friends are leading their own lives when they learn that Sota has been arrested. It is time for the dog club members to reassemble for a rescue mission of a different kind.
From Yuka Katano’s novel based on true events, Inubu combines serious themes of animal rights with an entertaining and sometimes humorous tale of friends pursuing a shared passion -- and lots of lovable animals too, of course.
