(they/them) white, queer, non-binary, parent - Dancer “Sid Ryan Eilers has the audience holding their breath with every movement” (Veronica Appia, The Theatre Reader). Sid Ryan Eilers is a dance artist based in Hamilton, Ontario. In February 2014 Sid founded the not-for-profit dance company Aeris Körper Contemporary Dance. Sid has presented their work in Germany, New York, Toronto and across the GTA by presenters such as DUMBO, Series 808, FRESH BLOOD, DanceWorks CoWorks, Dance Matters, Burlington Performing Arts Centre, Frost Bites, and Theatre Aquarius*. Sid was an artist with the Burlington Whole Shebang (2014-2016) and was mentored by Andrea Nann in her Conscious Bodies Method. Sid supported and was choreographic assistant to Peggy Baker for MOVE at the Art Gallery of Hamilton (Winter 2019). Sid was nominated for a Hamilton Arts Award in 2019 for Dance and Performing Arts. Currently Sid is under mentorship with Wet Ostrich Artistic Director Shahar Binyamini in Tel Aviv, Israel. Their most recent immersive event, Collapsing The Night, included mixed digital media, live music in a performance installation at Hamilton’s Tropical Greenhouse, Gage Park, to rave review in Nov. 2019.
