There are many ways to become involved in the JCCC community. Year-round, we offer classes and programs for our members; and also opportunities to volunteer and participate in our events.
The JCCC also relies on the generosity of our donors and sponsors to sustain our work. The financial support we receive allows us to continue to provide the community with access to an authentic Japanese and Japanese Canadian experience.
The best way to immerse yourself into Japanese and Japanese Canadian culture is to become a JCCC member.
There are many volunteer opportunities available at the JCCC throughout the year. These positions include helping at festivals, the JCCC Annual Bazaar, children's programs, heritage-related programs, the JCCC Library and many more.
The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) is a living monument to the pioneering spirit of our ancestors and a symbol of our proud Japanese heritage. Financial support helps the JCCC to ensure it continues to be a cultural resource for the next generations.
We would like to thank the following individuals and organizations for their ongoing financial support. Your generosity allows the JCCC to provide programs that bring Japanese and Japanese Canadian culture to the Greater Toronto Area. You help us to fulfill our founding philosophy of “Friendship Through Culture”. If you are interested in supporting the JCCC, please contact Executive Director James Heron at 416-441-2345.
The Sakura Gala is an annual event taking place in Spring. It is the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre’s showcase gala. Benefiting the Japanese Canadian Cultural Legacy Campaign, the Sakura Gala honours one individual with the Sakura Award for their exceptional contributions to the promotion and exchange of Japanese culture and enhancing awareness of Nikkei heritage within Canada and abroad.
