Katherine Yamashita, PhD
Katherine has been working in visual and digital arts education for over 30 years at the secondary level and for over 10 at the Graduate level. She is currently teaching VIsual Arts Education in the Masters of Teaching Program at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) and teaching digital and fine arts at the TDSB Virtual School.
She recently worked with Bryce Kanbara curating the Being Japanese Canadian: Reflections on a Broken World at the Royal Ontario Museum and has been a committee member at the JCCC Gallery for over ten years.
Her own artistic practice includes photography, pottery, oil painting and woodwork. She considers herself a lifelong learner continually inspired by nature, people and the current state of the world.
