STAY MUM

Chisako, a writer, and her father, Kozo, have a long-standing feud and have been living apart for a long time. When Kozo, who lives alone, begins to develop dementia, she returns to her hometown to take care of him. On the road one night, she rescues a boy who has lost his memory in an accident and has signs of abuse on his body. To protect him, she pretends to be his mother and takes the boy into Kozo’s house. As this new family begins to bond, so the dangerous and possibly violent repercussions of Chisako’s lie start to mount. Was her lie a crime or an act of love? A suspenseful mystery that questions the nature of family and escaping the past as it builds to a shocking and powerful conclusion.
