HOW DARE YOU?
Yuishi is a typical 10-year-old boy who loves to catch bugs everyday after school. He develops a crush on classmate Kokoa after she gives a speech on the injustice of children shouldering the burden of a climate crisis caused by adults. Soon they’re joined by Haruto, the class troublemaker, and together the three hatch playful acts of protest to expose their town’s environmentally careless habits. But as their eco-missions escalate, the young activists begin to understand the real consequences of their actions and are forced to confront their own motivations.
Director O brings her sharp sense of humor and her gift for drawing natural performances from her young cast. A witty script tackles big moral questions and the quiet stirrings of childhood emotion. An observant and bittersweet cautionary tale for audiences of all ages.
