After losing his mother during the war, young Mahito moves to his rural family’s estate where mysterious events lead him to a secluded and ancient tower. There a mischievous grey heron guides him through a fantastic world shared by the living and the dead. Mahito now must uncover the secrets of this world, and the truth about himself.
The special edition features an introduction from composer Joe Hisaishi and a drawing session with animation director Takeshi Honda.
