The Cause

The Mission of the JCCC Legacy Campaign

The Legacy Campaign exists to raise funds in support of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre's on-going cultural and heritage programming, and the JCCC Foundation.

Yesterday. In support of our past - to introduce the culture, history and legacy of the Japanese Canadians to all Canadians while creating a tribute to the history of the Nikkei community and their contributions to the building of our nation.

Today. In support of our present - to educate all Canadians on the importance of heritage, tolerance and cultural understanding. To create a space for Pre and Post war Japanese immigrants and their descendants to congregate, thus acting as a 'living museum' and a focal point for the community.

Tomorrow. In support of our future - to bridge generations within the Japanese Canadian community: connecting the younger generation to their roots and providing the means for the continuing evolution of the community.

The campaign aims to create funding to complete and support the JCCC as a physical entity and, at the same time, seed the Foundation that will support the on-going promotion of Japanese culture and Japanese Canadian heritage. To this end, the circular enso logo was adopted to reflect a sense of wholeness and permanence.
