Tin Teruji Goto's interview was conducted on November 18, 2011 by Lisa Uyeda.
Teruji “Tin” Goto (a.k.a. Terry) was born was born on January 26, 1927 at a place called Sunbury along the Fraser River. In this interview Tin discusses life growing up in Kennedy, British Columbia on his family chicken farm. He describes the living conditions at Slocan City during the war years as well as the schooling, sports and recreation he enjoyed at the time. After the war, Tin moved with his family to Toronto where he worked in the garment industry for 40 years. Tin was an active member of the Toronto Buddhist Church serving in various leadership roles over the years. He met his wife through the Buddhist Church and has several children and grandchildren.
