JCCC Reopening

Welcome back! The JCCC will reopen to the public on December 8.

Our initial reopening will be on a limited schedule (Wednesday to Sunday: 10am to 3pm).

Select pre-registered classes and programs will continue to operate regardless of opening hours to the public.

The first stage of the reopening we will focus on:

  • Allowing access to the new MARU exhibition in the Moriyama Nikkei Heritage Centre
  • Providing Reception services (donations, membership fees, class registrations, etc.)
  • JCCC Gift Shop

Please enter only via the main entrance where for the safety of all, JCCC personnel will be screening all visitors for full vaccination documentation.

 

In order to access the JCCC, please kindly note the following:

A. Identification and Proof of Vaccination

  Accepted Proof of vaccination documents:

  a) Electronic vaccine certificate on the cellphone 
  b) The watermarked hardcopy of the Ministry of Health Vaccine receipt
  c) The Ministry of Health 2nd Dose Receipt

NOTE:  Effective Jan. 4, 2022 Ontario will require people to use their QR code and the Verify Ontario app. Dose and vaccine receipts will no longer be acceptable. The QR code can be used digitally or by printing a paper copy.

 

 Accepted ID documents:

  a) Driver licence
  b) Ontario Health card
  c) Passport
  d) Any official government document to showing the full name and date of birth.

 Unfortunately, access inside the JCCC building will be denied if:

  1. You cannot provide a valid piece of ID
  2. You cannot provide a valid proof of vaccination
  3. The name on the ID and proof of vaccination doesn’t match
  4. You cannot provide a Ministry of Health receipt for the 2nd dose
  5. The QR code on vaccination certificate (hardcopy or electronic) does not receive a “green checkmark” on the Verify Ontario App.

NOTE: If you have no proof of vaccination available, you can access their certificate at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/get-proof/ .

 

B. Health Screening

You will be asked if you have any COVID-19 symptoms as indicated on the City of Toronto COVID-19 Screening Poster. If you have any of these symptoms you will not be granted access to the JCCC.

 

C. Covid Test Results

The JCCC does not accept recent COVID Test results as sufficient for access to the building.

 

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THESE STEPS ARE IMPLEMENTED TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY, FRIENDS, MEMBERS AND VISITORS. THESE PROCEDURES APPLY TO ALL WHO ACCESS AND NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE GRANTED.
