In the interview, Fred discusses his life experiences, including his childhood in Vancouver, being the eldest son in a family of nine. In the middle of his undertaking of his Bachelor's degree at the University of British Columbia, the forced dispersal of Japanese Canadians occurred, so Fred moved to Alberta and finished his degree. After moving to Toronto, Fred worked as a banker, despite facing many cases of racial oppression. Finally reunited with his family, Fred had a highly successful career in finance. Fred passed away in 2014, at the age of ninety-five. He was the husband of Naka Sasaki.
