TORONTO JAPANESE FILM FESTIVAL CLOSING NIGHT
AND
KOBAYASHI AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD
The Toronto Japanese Film Festival’s closing night brought out a beyond-capacity crowd of 560 to see the North American premiere of Yoshihiro Nakamura’s delightful MUMON – THE LAND OF STEALTH. The audience loved the film and enjoyed director Nakamura’s humorous stories in the post screening Q&A session.
At the post-screening reception, Ryota Nakano’s HER LOVE BOILS BATHWATER was announced as the recipient of the Kobayashi Audience Choice Award.
This year’s festival attracted some of Japan’s top directors and stars as well as a 30% increase in audience numbers. We are already looking forward to 2018 but remember: we have 3 additional films in July and August so we hope to see you then!
Here are some of the highlights of the 2017 festival.
